About us
I have worked in many areas of the learning disability services through out Leeds for over the past 32 years.
I have proudly designed and created more than 10,500 easy read images, ranging from line-drawn symbols to a comprehensive library for Easy on the i. My work includes the development of numerous photo images and photorealistic images, which has afforded me a broad and unique understanding of easy read imagery.
My expertise has led me to collaborate with numerous organisations throughout the UK and beyond, including NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, Advocacy Groups, and many voluntary services. Additionally, I have facilitated easy read groups, organised events and training days, and served as an easy read tutor.
Most significantly, collaborating one-on-one with numerous fantastic people with learning disabilities designing images.
Image Support Expert
My name is Shaun Webster, MBE. I have a learning disability, dyslexia, and short-term memory challenges. I am married, with children and grandchildren.
My years of experience with easy read materials come from my diverse life experiences, including living independently, my employment and peer-to-peer support.
I began my work on easy-read images with Change, where I was part of the word and picture team. Following, I worked with the Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in the Involvement Team, where I collaborated with Dean on image design. Additionally, I served as an expert advisor at the industry leading photo-based company.
I am planning to co-author a book with my best friend to help change people's attitudes towards learning disabilities.
I didn’t pass any qualification at school but I have gained my qualifications in life through my lived experiences.

By purchasing images from YourSymbols, you are granted unlimited use within your organisation for all easy read materials, resources, advertising, online ads, and social media. However, you cannot alter the images without prior written consent. If you require modifications, please contact YourSymbols for a small fee, except for compositing with other elements, which is permitted. Reselling, redistributing, or sub-licensing the images to third parties is prohibited. All images remain the property of YourSymbols.

Welcome to YourSymbols ("we", "our", "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and the images from us. By accessing our website or purchasing the use of our images, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our website or our services.
2. Definitions
"Image" means any photograph, illustration, or digital artwork that we offer for purchase.
"Website" means our website located at [www.yoursymbols.co.uk].
3. Purchasing
3.1 Upon purchasing an image, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable use to the images according to the terms specified in your purchase agreement.
3.2 The purchase granted is limited to the use specified in the purchase agreement. Any use beyond the specified terms requires additional fees.
4. Permitted Uses
4.1 You may use the images for the following purposes:
Can be used throughout your organisation for all easy read material and resources.
Organisational advertising and promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, leaflets online ads, social media.
Personal and individual easy read material and resources.
4.2 Any other use not expressly permitted by these Terms or your purchase agreement is prohibited.
5. Restrictions
5.1 You may not:
Alter or change images without prior written consent.
Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the image to any third party.
Use the image in a way that is defamatory, pornographic, or otherwise unlawful.
